Hawaii Solar Energy Where They are Going?

Hawaii is one of the top leaders in Solar Power. The energy sector in Hawaii has rapidly adopted the solar power system to provide the residents with unlimited electricity and to cut the high cost of electricity.
Hawaii has been the front runner of solar energy and has now set an ambitious goal of reaching 100% renewable energy by the year 2045. What’s is really incredible about this goal is, some islands are predicting to reach this goal even before 2045.
This serious goal has also encouraged Hawaii’s utilities to seriously think about renewable solar energy and is now seen contributing to make this dream a reality. Recently, the Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) sent the state regulators about 7 new solar-plus-storage contracts. Six out of seven contracts are set for under 10 cents per kilowatt an hour. This is one of the lowest costs ever seen by the state.

While this sudden change in the market has significantly impacted the market share, it also creates a doorway for consumers to get their hands on the panels and eventually help in speeding up the progress towards 100% renewable energy.
Hawaiian is to see new policies and legislature in the coming year which will play a big role in taking them towards their goal.
