Both the govern ment and electrical contractors on the big island have taken initiative to make the solar energy greener by recycling worn-out solar panels in a most effective and environment-friendly way. So far, there are two methods- Mechanical and Thermal- that are used to ensure an appropriate procedure is employed all the materials used in the Solar Panels are recovered and put back into the manufacturing cycle. These methods are applied depending on the presence of silicon in the modules. A specific machine is used to detect this. If there is a silicon present in the panels, the mechanical method is employed. The process is carried out by separating each and every part- the glass shielding the module, the aluminum frame, the copper, and the silic
