How are solar panels recycled?

Using renewable energy and clean energy has been inclined in Hawaii for quiet sometimes, which has led to a growing number of people using Solar Energy On The Big Island. So, what happens to those worn out solar panels?
Both the government and electrical contractors on the big island have taken initiative to make the solar energy greener by recycling worn-out solar panels in a most effective and environment-friendly way.
So far, there are two methods- Mechanical and Thermal- that are used to ensure an appropriate procedure is employed all the materials used in the Solar Panels are recovered and put back into the manufacturing cycle.

These methods are applied depending on the presence of silicon in the modules. A specific machine is used to detect this. If there is a silicon present in the panels, the mechanical method is employed. The process is carried out by separating each and every part- the glass shielding the module, the aluminum frame, the copper, and the silicon and other metals.
If silicon is not detected in the modules, the entire panel is dismantled using thermal methods by means of chemical baths.
Silicon powder, copper, and plastic materials are usually what remains at the end of the process.
Mechanical and thermal recycling approaches are generally considered to be 98% efficient. The materials extracted can be also used for supporting other production.
